St. Johns County voters will have 11 days of early voting ahead of the Nov. 3 general election, with polls opening Oct. 21 at 10 locations countywide.
Early voting runs 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Oct. 31, according to the St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections. The county's early voting window begins three days before the statewide minimum start date of Oct. 24.
Registered voters can cast a ballot at any of the 10 sites, not just the one closest to home. Photo and signature ID are required.

The 10 early voting locations are:

Amendment 3 would raise homestead tax exemptions
Among the items facing voters is Amendment 3, a legislatively referred constitutional amendment that would expand homestead tax exemptions and cap property assessment increases. According to Ballotpedia, a "yes" vote would raise the homestead tax exemption for nonschool taxes to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028. It would also lower the annual cap on assessment increases for nonhomestead properties from 10% to 5% and restrict how counties and municipalities spend property tax revenue.
A legislative staff analysis estimated the amendment would reduce local government revenue statewide by $4.6 billion in fiscal year 2027-28 and $8.4 billion in 2028-29, according to Ballotpedia. The amendment needs 60% approval to pass. The St. Johns County Property Appraiser's Office has posted informational materials on the amendment but takes no position on it.
Deadlines, Election Day hours and voter help
Voter registration closes Oct. 5. Voters who want a mail ballot sent to them must request one by 5 p.m. Oct. 22. Mail ballots must reach the Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. Election Day to be counted. They can be returned by mail, dropped at secure ballot intake stations at any early voting site during voting hours, or delivered in person to the elections office.
On Election Day, polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must go to their assigned precinct that day.
Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes' office has already begun preparations. The office swore in 23 poll deputies Sept. 17 for the general election.
