Jerry Dedge leads John H. Wilson in the St. Augustine-St. Johns County Airport Authority Board Group 2 race, according to unofficial results from the St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections.
The latest posted county results, checked at 12:33 p.m. EST Nov. 4, show Dedge with 66,486 votes (57.26%) and Wilson with 49,625 (42.74%), for a total of 116,111 votes. All 55 of 55 participating precincts reported. The county report says vote-by-mail results are partial and provisional ballots are not included. Results remain unofficial pending canvassing and certification.
The five-member authority oversees St. Augustine Airport. Dedge, an incumbent appointed to the board in 2025, is a retired military aviator who served 41 years as an Army aviator and 24 years as a St. Johns County reserve deputy, according to his St. Johns Record candidate profile. During the campaign, he proposed using part of an unused terminal for a second fixed-base operator and possibly commuter airline service.
Wilson is a retired New York City criminal court judge who served in Brooklyn night court, according to his St. Johns Record candidate profile. He criticized the board’s recommendation to have state lawmakers end voter elections for authority seats and said airport fuel service needs more competition.
